Perlutz seemed to be ok today, good appetite and mood in the morning and lunch but spent all afternoon sleeping on the bed.

Now it’s insulin time but he won’t eat. He had some grass and vomited it a minute later but he doesn’t want food. I even tried to give him a piece of sausage that normally is like crack for him but he wouldn’t have it.

Should I still give the insulin as his Bg is high?

More details about him here http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...mmatory-diagnostic.215814/page-2#post-2398137

EDIT He has a little bit of gooey thing in the corners of his eyes. I went to lie next to him and he made noises as me, I had to move away. That’s really unusual for him.

Georgianna, I am sorry I can't advise, but you might also post this question on the Prozinc forum, so that other Prozinc users can see and perhaps advise.

It's very warm here in the UK today (and will get warmer tomorrow) - sometimes that can put cats off eating. And if he's just had grass and been sick, his tummy might feel a bit delicate. I'd wait half an hour or so then try a tasty morsel again then - you know how contrary cats are, he might be fine by then, in which case just shoot late on this occasion.

Not sure what to say about the gooey thing in his eyes, unless it's possibly also related to the temperature - can cats get hayfever, I don't know. He's obviously not very comfortable at the moment so he might just want to be left alone for a bit.

Agree with Lou - post on Prozinc forum for advice about shooting with no food on board.

I thought about the heat, but he is normally fine. Back home in Romania we get 30-35 C on a daily basis for 3 months so he is or was used to the heat. But we have been through 6 British summers now so he might not be used to it anymore...

He licked a little bit of food just now. Will keep an eye on him for the rest of the evening.

Really not sure what is going on with him but I hope it’s just tonight and he’ll go back to his normal self tomorrow. Still trying to figure out what we can do for his health from now on, I feel completely lost.

Maybe the meds are upsettmg him? That wouldn't be out of the question.

As for what to do now generally, I still think you need someone to take a serious interest im Perlutz - that might start with having a plan for the diabetes. Could you ask around to see if there's anyone specialisng in diabetes that you could ask some questions? It gets extremely wearing for you carrying on with no progress, and Perlutz is having his ups and downs too. You're so dedicated to Perlutz, you both need and deserve a break.
