We have 5 cats with Cash being the only diabetic as far as I know.
I decided to start testing my other felines with my Relion Prime
Random results of two of my other cats.
10 pound 10 year old female. 45
18 pound 5 year old male 49
They both can eat anytime and eat Science diet Hairball control for mature cats.

I have seen Cash with blood sugar in this range and he was not bonking.
I understand that the Relion Prime was not calibrated for cats.

Has anyone else checked their non-diabetic cats

I've tested my civvies a few times

I've got one that routinely tests in the high 30's....the other one is usually in the 50's

In a cat that's not on insulin, those are totally normal numbers

Thanks for your data points with your Relion Confirm.
When I see my diabetic cat at 88 with my Relion Prime glucometer he is still a bit hyperglycemic. Might have to reassess goals.

88 is a very good number for cats on insulin. When they are not on insulin their body will not make them go hypoglycemic. My non-diabetic cat runs around 50 on my ReliOn prime.

Yes some padding is a good idea. We think that he may have something else going on with our diabetic cat. He got down to the 100 range the first of February after taking 12 units/day for a month. The 3 months before that we never saw a 300 always above that, being 500 avg. This is the best that he has been since his diagnosis.
