So Angels friend Miyu ended up having a 3 day vet stay last week. He hadn't pooped for 3 days and was throwing up. X-rays did show he was conscripted but also showed fluid in his lungs. The blood work came back good but the vet said it could possibly be a tumor or heart problems (he's a big boy at 28lbs). Those things wouldn't show up in blood work. Anyways, any further testing or diagnosing would require him seeing a specialist which could cost us thousands. We don't have that kind of money so we are just taking it day by day. He was sent home with antibiotics and is a completely different cat. He seems so much better!

My question is... why does Angel suddenly hate his guts? Lol. Has anyone else experienced this? They have never been super lovey dovey but they definitely enjoy one another's company. Not now. She hisses and won't go near him. I wonder if she just liked all the extra attention while he was gone or if she's just getting old and forgot him. Lol. It's so strange. He's been back since Friday and no progress in their relationship.

I had a cat that would freak out on the other cat for about 3-4 days after. My guess is they pick up the scents of other animals and don't smell like themselves.

As we speak... he's trying so hard lol

My cats both do that when one of them has a vet visit. Whoever stays home will hiss and smack and run from the one that went to the vet. I've had some success with the scent swapping, like Chris suggested. Mostly I just try to keep them at some level of peace with each other for a few days until they get over it. If anesthesia was involved it's taken about a week!

I've been studying Angels SS. It's starting to look like 3.25u might be her ideal dose. Each time she has a low preshot number I've been cautious with what I give her... from looking at her SS does anyone think she would be ok getting 3.25u at any preshot number? Is that a thing? Meaning, they do better at a certain amount of insulin regardless of preshot numbers? I'm happy with how she's doing but I still want better. He diabetic neuropathy is about 85% better and she's just an all around happy girl who purrs when she gets her glucose checked now lol. We've come so far. :)
