Nolan's numbers way up and staying high

Nolan has been dx diabetic since March of last year. After struggling to find the right dose, it seemed that I finally got his numbers under control and I was getting such good numbers that I was able to back his dose down quite a lot and continued to get better and better numbers. A couple months ago I noticed Nolan pee outside the litter box a couple times so I called the vet and took in a urine sample. The vet said it was a UTI and she started him on baytril (in the past he used clavamox but it sometimes upset his stomach so she wanted to try something new) Nolans BG was creeping upward and the Baytril didnt seem to have any effect. So I called the vet and told them that I figured I needed the clavamox agin since the Baytril wasnt helping and his numbers kept getting higher. I started him on the clavamox and he was on it for several days when i noticed that the bottle didn't actually say clavamox, it said amoxicillin. I called the vet and they said it was an oversight and told me to come in for clavamox. So Nolan then was on clavamox. All the while his numbers kept getting higher :(
finally I told the Vet that I needed to bring him in, the antibiotics hadn't helped to improve his condition and I was beginning to wonder if he really even had a UTI. The vet took a urine sample directly from the bladder this time and sent it out to a lab. THe results came back and there was no infection, and when the lab tried to grow a culture no bacteria grew. Now the vet is telling me that there are no underlying causes for his higher numbers? she said they did a blood test and while his monocyte white blood cells were slightly elevated, everything looked ok. So now I am left wondering what is going on? I had gotten Nolan down to .8 dose and now im up to 1.5 dose! Could he never have had a UTI and all the antibiotics threw him off so now im starting over with the dosing? Could something else be going on? I'm so frustrated with the situation, he was doing so well! Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not infrequently things change on a cat that changes the cat's insulin needs. Is Nolan acting the same and eating the same as before?

Did they ever test Nolan for pancreatitis? I wonder if the levels might be slightly elevated but maybe there are little to no symptoms. Just a thought, probably toto silly wrong.

Could he be getting food elsewhere?

Does he get upset tummy's when he isn't on the a/b?

He doesn't usually have any tummy or bathroom issues unless he is on the antibiotics. He really cant get food anywhere else either. His levels are way higher than they should be and I cant hardly get his BG down into the 100's even at his lowest point lately :( The vet sent out the urine and did a blood test... could there be something else going on that isn't detected by those tests? Right now I'm just adjusting his dose to try and get better numbers, I'm hoping that the antibiotics and everything got him out of whack so its just about getting his BG back into good numbers and getting back to normal. But I'm wondering if there could be some underling issue that isnt being detected?

The pancreatitis test is a spec fPL test that is sent off to an idexx lab so that wouldn't be covered in the normal tests. You could ask for one but that would taking him back in.
