Say @+2he was down from 205 to 158.
I fed him .80 oz of rabbit with tiny bit of ff classic trying to control how fast he'll drop.
Ill check him at +3 or +4 to see how the nights headed .
 
Great I was half a sleep at his +9 and I got a 25 reading and instead of panicking I did his other ear and got 159. Not sure what happened that's the first time I had a weird reading.
I'm happy that he's staying in the blues and low yellows at shoot time.
How's that handsome Cooter doing? i see your using the U100 syringes can you tell me which ones? I think I should buy the U100 3/10cc 1/2" 29G is that right?
 
Sometimes the meters are wonky, glad you didnt panic and his number was good :) Cooter had a nice low AMPS this morning, below 200 so tried a low dose of .2. I love the U100's nice small dose adjustments.

I bought the relions from walmart, 3/10cc 5/16" 30g. They have a shorter needle then the ones i got from the vet and have half unit increments. The 1/2 unit mark is a .2 dose :) The shorter needle works well and i dont have to worry about going too deep or through the skin fold. The 30g seems to go in easier too. They were about $13 for a box of 100.
The girl asked if I had "proof of neeed" for them, but the phamacist remembered me from some questions I had asked her when this all started and told her it was ok. They did say if I brought in his prozinc box that would work as proof in the future if needed.

That's amazing that Cooter has responded so well and looks like he might be able to go into remission....
I am looking forward to that for Fritz. Although he is on such a high dose 4.25 he weighs 25lbs. When we first started in Feb 2016 he weighed 28.7 so he is loosing.
I see Cooter is on Zobaline, I bought some for Fritz but I don't know if he needs it? I have watched videos of other cats, the only thing with Fritz is when he's been laying for awhile he struggles to get up and going on his hind legs. I really don't want to give him something if he doesn't need it.
 
:) Wonder if he has some arthritis going on, and every pound he drops is a victory! Has he had an xray to look for it? Cooters a long way from remission I'm sure, hes way too erractic, but I am hopeful we will get there.
 
How can you use such a small amount of insulin?Fritz is up to 4.25 units.
Guess one shoot at a time:)
 
That plus depends on how much they weigh, how much their pancreas is working, if there is inflammation in their body, their calorie intake - in Cooters's case, his pancreas is definitely kicking in to help, I think
 
Hows that handsome guy doing? He had a nice run yesterday! Noticed the FS last night :( That is so frustrating I know! Did you start the Zobaline? Its kind of wierd how it turns red in the food!
 
I'm lucky, Cooter doesnt care if its pink, yellow or green, its food! Have never had a problem crushing meds and adding them for him, wish it worked that easy for the rest!

He had such a nice run for two cycles and with that possible fur shot I only tested him @+2.5 last night. It sure felt heavenly to sleep till 4:20am this morning. He was @243 so well see how he surfs today. I haven't started the Zobaline yet. Is there any side effects that you know of?
 
I havent seen any side effects in Cooter, except walking better :) No GI upset or anything, which is good because he's usually pretty easy to upset in that department.
