Newbie Kits is blessed to run on the material donations so generously given by so many.
Whether they be toys, sockies, strips, meters.
However with my latest request for restocking I have been supplied to the hilt....with supplies so difficult to match up without funds.
Please know that material donations are the life blood of NK. But I am sitting here with strips I have no meters for...and meters I have no strips for.

I also have 150 accu-check comfort curve strips with a little over one month to live.
Until NK I had NO IDEA of the variety of meters all under the name of one meter....each taking it's own special strip.

This is where some expendable cash is really needed.
Many people emailed me that cash was on the way....only 2 arrived. Thank you CD and KSA
This money is already spent making up for $$ I have laid out sending kits out sans postage paid and a few supplies (meters and strips) at the CVS----sorry but they were immediate needs.

Cindy seemed to have a nice cash flow if I remember right.
Maybe times are harder...well, of course they are.
And Beloved DCIN needs $$$ and I am oh so glad they get it.

But if you have any small donation you can put into the donation part of NK web store...thank you for it.

I will never let NK fail. I won't. I have spent hours trying to match up kits only to realize...hey these strips don't REALLY go with this meter but it sure looked like it did!

With Tom gone, making up NK is a time I feel connected to both him and you....
help me make sense of all this material I have and put together a few dozen kits....yes a few dozen.
I have that many unmatched sets.
And a few dozen goes....well, at times , relatively quickly.

Blessings my loves

I would call the manufacturers of meters/strips. Most medical supply companies have some form of charitable giving program. They may be willing to provide some form of on-going donation to help out. (Also pointing out that once someone has been using their meter, chances are they will stick with that meter and start buying strips thereby adding to the company coffers, may be an incentive.) If FDMB has non-profit status, this may also help. (Rebecca should be able to tell you whether this is the case.) Finding a steady source of kits would, no doubt be a help.

Sienne, I have talked to almost all the major brands telling them who I am and what I represent....for them financially if they want to donate meters or strips for a newbie kit.
I have never had one call me back....altho they all say they will.
And contrary to what I may come across as here....I do provide a very professional tone when conducting business.
The truth is obviously not the way to go.....I do believe they think it's a scheme or something.
Anyway....I have so much stuff....just need to pair it up.
Right now
Accu-check compact, compact plus or comfort curve is a major need. I have over a thousand strips.
Do you see my dilemna?

Sienne, did you know my sweet Tom has taken leave to the bridge....Saturday.
Just wanted to let you know. Becuase I think the world should stop and recognize him is all.......(only half kidding)

I just saw someone mention that Tom had crossed. I'm so sorry. I know how devastating the loss can be.

All I can say is that sometimes, you need to be persistent with these folks. Getting the name of someone who would be a point of contact might work. Also providing them with information about the site. They'll see the info on the newbie kits. There's got to be a way to do this so it's easier all the way round. Maybe calling one company and concentrating on them and seeing what works might be a strategy.

Oh Lori, I'm so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. May he fly free. I tried to make a donation, but I see you can only use paypal...and my acct doesn't work for some reason. I'd be more than happy to mail you a check, tho, if you pm me your address.
