Nigel update May 29

Just got back from visiting Nigel. He is hydrated well but he really wasn't interested in seeing me. I left a sweatshirt of mine for him to have in his hotel room but I'm sure he peed on it first chance he got. I also dropped off some canned food and some baby food to try to entice him to eat but he never did do well at eating at any overnight vet visits.
He is on pain meds (which I forgot to ask which one) for his mouth ulcers and pepcid. They are giving him vitamins in his fluids.
His Vet called a short while ago and said that his BUN is still off the charts---CREA is down from 9.9 to 7---Phos was 14 and is down to 11. And his blood pressure is 180/130 (!!!) which she said is not unusual in cats with his kidney numbers. Someone please tell this is true???? They were to start him on a blood pressure med.
Just a sit and wait situation now as they continue his care. Depending on his numbers on Tuesday he may be transferred over to his new Vet to continue his care there. Will keep you posted. Thanks again for your thoughts and good wishes!
If anyone can think of any questions that I should ask tomorrow when I get another update, please let me know.

Sending healing vines to Nigel. Keep getting better, Nigel.

Dearest Lorraine, and, of course, you too, sweet Nigel,

Please know we're holding you both closely in our hopeful hearts, thoughts, and prayers.

Much love and countless hopeful, healing, hungry hugs,
Deb and Nikki -- and, Giz, who literally taught me all about hope...

I was wondering how our Mr. Nigel was doing today. Glad to see some of his numbers coming down, now let's see the BUN follow suit! Sending eating vines to your boy. I hope you get better news tomorrow!

I'm glad Nigel is currently "plugged in" so to speak. That'll help with his blood levels.

Hang in there!
