Hi my name is Katie. My cat Thumbs, was just diagnosed with diabetes. I have been giving him insulin for about 3 days now. I brought him in to get his BG check post insulin and it was at 196 from 428 before insulin. I was wondering if I should only be feeding him wet food that is high in protein and low carb instead of having dry food that is high protein low carb for him to graze on all day? Also I know I need to feed him before I give him insulin but should I have wet food out for him all day instead of the dry food if he gets hungry or just feed him twice a day before I give him the shot? Any help would be great. I have been stressing out over this and very nervous I will do something wrong and Thumbs will go into hyop.
Thank You,
Katie
