You are more likely to get specific Lantus advice on their forum. Go back to your post there, choose edit and put in the subject line: Need Dose Advice Now That board is so busy in the evening that you get moved down the page fast and get lost unless you stress that you need advice now. I will also see if I can pm someone to look at your post there.

If you can get another test in a half an hour or so, he might be up enough to shoot, I would like to see him closer to 200 since you don't have a lot of data yet. Or if you can be around and awake to monitor you can give the .5 and then test him in a hour or so to see where he is headed. Depends on how brave you are feeling. I tend to error on the side of caution but that is just me. I know alot of folks on the Lantus board shoot the lower numbers. Luckily for me I never had to try as my guy went into remission fairly quickly.

I did another test an hour after he ate and it was 243 so I went ahead and gave him a .5 dose. I'm planning to test at +1 and +2. Thanks for your help! People did respond on the Lantus board, I was getting worried that I was getting far behind what his scheduled dose time should be. :) Ah newbie panic!

I'm looking forward to feeling more comfortable with all of this. Right now my life revolves around work and Leonard, which is such a single modern lady's cliche. ;)
