Insulin doesn't normally raise glucose. If you feed and give shot at same time, the food will spike the glucose 1-2 hrs after. Then the insulin starts kicking in at 3-4 hrs for most kitties. You want to make sure they have food to prevent a sharp drop. I dont agree with your vet about the feeding.
 
finally getting somewhere. lucian is still on 3units bid but so far last 3 days: 7/23 amps 292 pmps 333. 7/24 amps 146 (no insulin given here) pmps 523. 7/25 amps 240 pmps 295. he seems to be gradually starting to level out a little. i could be wrong. vet wants him at 4u but im not doing that. not till we have more data. planning amps +6 and pmps saturday. we're getting better everyday and he lets me check now for pmps. not home for daytime nadir. cant figure out how to post new thread. with any luck lucian will have more good level bgs n we can figure this out. less stress for us all.​
