Hey everyone!
So I have been giving Abby 1u of lantus every 12 hours for 10 days now. It has been pretty difficult on me for home testing but I've been trying really hard. I just need someone to check out my spreadsheet and give some advice... this morning she was super weary of me and didn't run into the kitchen for feeding time like usual. I had to call her name a few times while the other cats were practically begging for their breakfast. She finally came out and ate a few bites but didn't really want to be near me. I was getting ready to leave for work and she hid under the bed and didn't want to come out. I couldn't even give her the amoxicillian either.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get this routine down where she isn't scared? I've been giving her treats too when I inject.

Also, since I missed an injection, should I do something particular now or just give her 1u shot after dinner tonight? I am planning to do a curve tomorrow for the vet bc obviously the numbers are showing 1u isn't enough for her.

Oh and she has also been throwing up. A lot of hairballs it looks like. Which isn't common for her to do. I did completely change her diet so this could be from that or the antibiotics?

Could be diet and/or antibiotics. The testing is very important even though it's hard for you right now. Keep at it ... it will get easier. Kitties feed off our energy/anxiety so try to be as calm and businesslike with poking as you can.

If there's hairball in it than she just has to get them up. This is shedding time of year.... She may need extra brushing.
If it's not hairball than that could be a sign of pancratitis or dka.
If the limited eating continues it could be an issue so keep us updated.
