Hi, Everyone,
My name is Lauren and I have a great boy Roy.
He was dx'd 2 weeks ago. I am home-testing and shooting Lantus 1 unit bid.
Some really high numbers as high as 660/750/and off glucometer.
I need to know how to make a spreadsheet. Can someone assist?
I feed him through an e-tube due to renal issues.
Much appreciated if you can assist.

Hi Lauren

Here's a link to get you started. You can get a google account and look through the rest of the instructions. Let me know if you have additional questions.

Re: Newbie Renal Kitty w/E-Tube Needs Lantus Dosing Advice

Thank you, Marjorie!
What a great welcome you gave me to fdmb.
Roy's numbers are now posted and we need to get them stronger.
We're 4 days into transitioning his food from kd to dm; now 50/50.
We feed him 4x day; Lantus 2x day; numbers still variable and need to be lower.
Any further recommendations appreciated.
Thanks so much,

Hi Lauren,
I just took a glance at the spreadsheet, but I'm not experienced with Lantus so I can't offer dose advice. Has he been on the same 1u bid dose since you started giving shots? Oh, nevermind, I just noticed the doses are in the "comments" section...
On the SS, in the column with the "U" heading that is where the dose information goes. If it's 1u, then write it as "1.0" for instance. That way it will look like what we're used to seeing and will enable people to help you more easily.

I'll see if I can get a lantus user or two to take a look...

Carl
