. I'm sure someone will be along to help!

Thank you! Not sure exactly how this forum works, not use to a forum should I say, hopefully I did the signature rightHi, I can't help with dosing but will sure give you some moral support. I'm sure someone will be along to help!

Looks good to me. I'd read about Lantus insulin and consider the switch it is a gentler depot insulin. Thank you for your reply, guess things move kinda slow on here, I have done tons of reading, we are now seeing lower numbers so I would be terrified to switch not to mention not sure if my vet would, not many options on vets where I live, thank you again!Looks good to me. It's really hard to know what's going on with Bell without some more testing. Can you get a few more tests sprinkled in at different points in the cycle?
The 3.25 dose is getting him down into blue numbers (that's good!) but then he's bouncing back high again.

thank you for your reply, I will do as much as she will allow me to, she is very dramatic at times, could you suggest some good times to check? It's really hard to know what's going on with Bell without some more testing. Can you get a few more tests sprinkled in at different points in the cycle?

Thank you for your help!Maybe one cycle do +3, +6, +9....another do +2, +5, +8, another +4, +7, +10 (you don't always have to get 3 tests in between the shots...this is just an idea)
Think of your spreadsheet like it's a puzzle and every test you get fills in another piece. The more pieces you have sprinkled around, the clearer the picture becomes.

Thank you! I will try to get more test in and start her on the 3 units tonightHi Sharon,
Beautiful picture of Bell in your avatar.
Tests between +3 and +5 are the most likely ones to catch the nadir BG for each cycle with Vetsulin. Tests around the +2 mark will help you determine whether Bell's BG is dropping really fast. If it is, then giving a small LC meal might slow the drop a bit and help smooth out her cycles a little. Tests between +6 and +10 will give you a picture of dose duration as that's when the Vetsulin dose typically starts petering out (or it may catch an unusually late nadir). If you can 'fill in the blanks' mid-cycle, it will help you to see better how the Vetsulin's working for Bell and that should help you optimise the dosing.
I think perhaps the 3.25IU dose might be a little high because you're getting 'lopsided' PS BG readings, leading to the recent too-low PMPS. I'd suggest dropping back to 3.00IU to see whether the preshot tests might become more balanced.
I agree with Chris that the blacks and reds you're seeing at preshot are bounce-related.
Given that Bell spends some of the time in high numbers, I'd suggest daily testing for urine ketones as a general safety precaution.
