Hi my name is Gina, and I am new to this (or any) forum. :cat: We just found out 2 weeks ago that our 4 yr old cat (Doug) is diabetic. He did fine the first couple of days with his insulin shots, now not so much.. Plus he isn't eating much at all. I have since tried 3-4 different foods, dry and wet, to see if he would like any of it.. As with his insulin, he did fine the first couple of feedings with each new food. Now it just goes to waste. HELP!!!
I'm wondering if there is a good essential oil/blend that would maybe help him. As, I can't afford $300 for insulin, if he won't take it. Plus, I've also heard about a product called Blood Sugar Gold, and was wondering if anyone has ever used it. Please help..

Thanks, Gina

Hi Gina and Doug,

Welcome to FDMB. My name is Shelly, and my cat's name is Jersey. FDMB was the first forum I ever joined, too. When Jersey was first diagnosed, I was absolutely overwhelmed..... by this forum and by the diagnosis itself! With the help of the individuals here, Jersey went into remission after just a few short months on insulin. She is now a diet-controlled diabetic.

I see you have several different questions, and I encourage you to post those questions on the "Feline Health (Main Forum)" board. There are a lot more individuals who check there, and you'll get more answers there. This is just a "welcome" type of board, so not as many people visit it.

Just a word of caution: We're going to ask you tons of questions! What you're feeding, what insulin you're giving, if you're testing blood glucose levels at home, how much Doug weighs, etc. Don't let us overwhelm you....but the more information we have, the more we'll be able to help.

Hang in there!
Shelly

Hi Gina, welcome to you and Doug. It's very important that Doug eats, and we have lots of suggestions to help with that. There are many supplements that may be of help too, plus we have lots of money saving tips, but we need to know a little more about Doug first, so please come to the Health Forum and tell us about him.
