Hello,
I am new to this board and have a 13 year old cat who was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Still learning about all of this as well as how this board works. Is this where I would go to post questions and concerns regarding feline diabetes? Thanks!
Jennifer

Welcome! This is where you would post your questions. I'm still learning as my 13-yr-old was just diagnosed a couple of weeks ago, but I'm sure the more experienced people will be along to help you out with your questions.

Hi Jennifer and Welcome! Tell us a little about your kitty. What kind of insulin? what food? What were her symptoms? What test did the vet do?

And then  what questions do you have?

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! We have a 13 year old male cat named Cooper. Within the past month we noticed his health rapidly declining so we took him into the vet and found out he is diabetic. We went through a very critical time with him as he battled ketoacidosis but surprised all of us including the vet and vet techs with his miraculous recovery. Over the past few weeks he has responded well but this past week he has been declining again. I did some research and found this website and the first thing I saw was that Humilin N is not recommended. He is 17 pounds and we have been giving him 6 units of Humilin N per day. He gets two injections per day, 3 in the am and 3 in the pm. I have posted another post regarding Lantus dosage since I just had a script filled for this but wanted to reply to this post as well. Thanks so much for all of the welcome and the help! @-)
