? New to Lantus & dosing advice

hello everyone! I am switching from Prozinc to Lantus with my Baby. She is battling a bacterial infection in her gut & I wanted to know if I should wait until she’s better? She’s on metronidazole, cerenia, & cyano B12 at the moment. She’s still having stinky diahpoo but we’re only on day 4 of meds. Her bg keeps rising but the vet seems to think it’s due to the illness. What amount would you suggest as a starting dose? I have read all info but would love your advice. Thank you in advance... grateful for any insight.

I hope the meds help out with her sore tummy.

The metronidazole seems to take 2-3 days to really get working.

Can't help on the dosage but wishing you luck on a easy transfer over.

Thanks for that! Ok I’ll let her get a little better before I start as it’s still pretty bad. They did x-rays & said she had a bad case.

Hello anybody- suggestions? I’m aftaid & need advice please. Starting dose for Baby that is in 1.8 u Prozinc at this time? I’m thinking 1 unit but she is on low carb food only. Her bg has been out of control due to fighting off this stomach bug.

I don't know about your starting dose but I would be inclined to wait until Baby Girl Kitty is feeling better. But that's just my opinion and perhaps others can weigh in here.

Thank you Judy, I will change my thread wording. I thought about waiting until she’s off the meds too. She really isn’t acting herself. I don’t know if it’s the illness, the meds, or her numbers have been so high. I just keep raising her dose... maybe others will chime in & thanks for your opinion!
