New to home testing

Hello all - my fur baby is named Ginger, 12-16 yrs old, diagnosed mid March and the vet has increased the Prozinic up to 4 units twice a day. Just started home testing (finally got my first successful one this morning) and her number was 209. I had tested before her breakfast, which I am very slowly adding FF paté to her dry Glycobalance which I want to get her off of. I went ahead and gave her 3.5 units this morning and now her mid day testing just was 354. Just hoping to get some thoughts on how to navigate the transition with the food and hopefully eventually lowering the dose. Thank you!
 
Best place for new members to post is in the Feline Health (Welcome & Main ) forum.

I'm often the only one that looks at the Prozinc forum and my time is very limited right now.
Would you please copy what you said here and create a new thread over in the Feline Health forum, where there are more eyes to help you out?

Please post there and there will be other people that can help you.

Ok thank you - I’m sorry I told to post in the Prozinic page with my questions.
 
Well, by the time members are ready to post in the one of the ISG forums, such as the Prozinc forum, we expect that someone will have their "signature" setup in their user id profile. Link on how to do that is below. Will take you about 60 seconds for the signature to be completed.

Editing your Signature, Profile, and Preferences

It will look something like this:
Emily & Ginger, DX date ~3/15/20, Prozinc, Meter used ???????, Wet and dry (Glycobalance)

Secondly, you'll also want to have setup our standardized format spreadsheet, where you record the data from the home testing and insulin doses you have been giving your cat Ginger and any other useful things that would be good to know.
There is a template that you copy. Instructions for doing that setup are in the following link.

Emily, I apologize for my short cryptic answer yesterday. I'm a bit overwhelmed trying to help people the best I can. I reached a breaking point and you got the fallout from that. My sincere apologies.

But we do need a bit more information to help you better.

We are laypeople that have had a diabetic cat in the past or some of us still do have diabetic cats. We are not vets or vet techs for the most part, simply diabetic cat owners that help other diabetic cat owners "learn the ropes" of dealing with this disease.

I see you have a "thread" started over in the Feline Health forum. That is the best place to be right now, until you learn more. I'll be replying to you more over there.
