Stella and Chewy's has several new varieties of their 100% nutrtionally complete freeze dried raw formulas for cats: http://www.stellaandchewys.com/cat-products.php All are low carb grain-free for diabetic cats, though the seafood based ones should probably be limited to once in awhile meals. The foods come in the regular 12 oz bag size and new single serve pouches (equivalent to a 3 oz can). The food should be rehdyrated for a few minutes before feeding but I guess if you have a dry food addict you could feed the freeze dried raw as is while you still try to transition to a a moist diet (ie canned or frozen or homemade raw).

Re: New Stella and Chewy's freeze dried raw food

This food is so addictive, my eldest cat has gone insane and destroyed my kitchen until every packet was consumed and all empty packages were removed from the premises.

It got to a point where I had to put the last 3 packets in the refrigerator -- the only place he couldn't open and destroy.

16 paws up for this food --- but I don't know if I can survive the experience of bringing more into my home, but if anyone ever stops eating -- this is what I will go buy.

That's a great recommendation. :-D
I think I'll have to order some just to try them on my cats. Maybe a Christmas present for the cats who have everything.

Re: New Stella and Chewy's freeze dried raw food

The single serve pouches of Stella and Chewy's cost about $1.99 each. I think the 12 oz bag is $20? I haven't tried Stella and Chewy's freeze dried raw for cats yet. I have tried the freeze dried raw dog food and the frozen dog food which one civie ignored and the other one liked for awhile but then ignored

Primal Pet also has a new 100% nutrtionally complete low carb grain-free freeze dried raw line: http://www.primalpetfoods.com/product/list/c/14 It's a pretty big eraser sized nugget so you would have to break it up into smaller pieces for a cat.

OnyNaturalPet.com has an air-dried food called Max Meat which is low carb and grain-free: http://www.onlynaturalpet.com/produ...n-Free-MaxMeat-Air-Dried-Cat-Food/999281.aspx Dry food addicts will like the crunchy texture of the food. It's similar to ZiwiPeak but not as expensive.

WE are true believers in this product. My girls love it. Especially my non-FD who is sad to not have crunchies any longer. This makes up for it.

And the cheapest place I have now found to buy it is www.petfood.com - even paying a shipping fee, it's still cheaper and delivery is quick!

That looks like a great new alternative. The ingredients look really good. Does anyone have actual carb % on it? What about phosphorus?

This isn't freeze dried, but i just saw this raw food Darwin's Natural Pet Foods NO fruits or veggies added! I'm going to call them next week to get more detailed info. With shipping it is just over $5 per pound.
