Just loaded the info into the spreadsheet template, I hope I did it correctly, any advice, BRING IT ON! Oh I see now that I looked at someone else's that you are supposed to put feeding times in there. I don't think I"ll be able to remember the past, but will go forward.

These two cats of mine are used to having lunch. Can I feed them three times a day? They are used to eating about six times a day. They are pestering me and looking forlorn and starving. Should I test Lucy now? I don't want to go overboard. I don't know what to do!

Lucy's glucose levels were elevated (500-600 range) last year, August 2011, during a UTI. She stayed on prozinc for just a week before I took her to the vet for her glucose curve Her glucose was 58 two hours after I'd given her the recommended dose of 2 units Prozinc (before I learned to test). UTI cured, diarrhea abated, insulin stopped for a glorious year.

Congrats, the spreadsheet looks great. Yes, you can certainly give a snack mid day. The thought is that small frequent meals can help the pancreas heal.

Early days. More data will complete the picture. I am wondering if she may have gone low last night and this amps was a bounce. (when their body perceives a lower number than they are used to, it releases extra glucose and the number goes up). Can you try to get a number around +8/9 to see if the insulin is lasting the whole cycle or if it is lasting longer than usual and she goes lower than the nadir number later in the cycle?

I tested her at +7 and it was 190. Still test again? Poor Lucy! I will be out of the house until +9. Low on cat food.

She will forgive you if there are treats! We need to know when she starts to go up. (it could be that she was lowest around 5-6 or she might "surf" in those blue numbers longer.). It will help us figure out tonight if the dose looks good and you can just hold it for a few days.

When you are ready, you can also post on the PZI forum.. Everyone there has used or uses your insulin and it is nice to see how others are doing. It is much smaller than Health so always post here if you have an emergency.

Just got back home, it's +10 and she is 318. I wish I could have gotten here sooner but it's the best I could do this afternoon. I'll test again at 12. Am I allowed to write the meals in the same cells as the glucose readings?

There are no rules  use the spreadsheet so it works for you. Some people put food over in the comments; some use the line under the bg numbers to add them.
