NEW, Rudy, missed dose

Hello everyone!
I’ve been gone for several years but I’m back with another one of my cats. It’s been a while so I may need a refresher course. Different cat and different insulin than I’ve ever used before.
Rudy is around 13 years old, no previous health issues. In December he had an abscess on his tail that was lanced and he was given antibiotics. He was also having diarrhea and was given meds for that. At the time his glucose was high but the vet wanted to recheck after the infection was cleared up.
He started to get better, gained a little weight and his stool had gotten better but not formed. Then suddenly he started losing weight not matter how much he ate and was drinking tons of water. I knew what those symptoms meant so I made an appointment for a checkup. His kidney values were good, maybe slightly elevated but nothing to be concerned with. His glucose was 500.
Started Lantus 2 units twice a day. They sent him home with Purina prescription wet and dry. He ate once and then I ran to the store to get him foods he would actually eat. My work schedule is insane and I was trying to figure out the best times to give his insulin. I have decided on 10 AM/10 PM. The problem is this time will not always work but it’s the most consistent time I could come up with. I have already run into an issue with tomorrow mornings shot time.
I’m having to work two jobs to make ends meet so I’m gone quite a bit. Tomorrow morning I have a mandatory work appointment during the time he’s supposed to get first shot (10 AM). I’m panicked and don’t know what to do. Please help.

How late or early would you be able to give tomorrow morning's shot? With a late shot, you can always work it back 15 minutes per cycle, or 1/2 hour once per day. You don't want to shoot too much earlier as it can act like a dose increase. 2 units is a higher dose than we normally start with here.

Are you going to be able to get a spreadsheet going for Rudy?

If I give it at 9 AM this morning should I give it at our regular time tonight, 10 PM?
I don’t get off work until 9 PM and can rush home to try to give it close to 9:30 PM if needed. Or I can go back to our regular schedule.

Another question I have is, what’s the leeway time with the shot, early/late? I work 2 jobs and do animal rescue so my schedule can vary a lot. Because of my afternoon job I am never home before 9:30 PM. That is why I chose 10AM & 10PM as shot times. But with the 10AM time I’m missing some work which equals money.
Is it possible to give 9:15AM & 9:30PM or is that a big no? Or even 9:30AM & 9:45 PM? I understand it’s best to give it 12 hours apart but I’m trying to figure out how to get to work a little earlier in the mornings but I can’t get home any earlier at night. I hope this isn’t confusing.

I need to update spreadsheet. Peyton is no longer with me. This is for Rudy, Lantus 2 units.
