I increased Dinnybones feedings from 2 3oz cans of Fancy Feast a day to 3 3 oz. cans a day hoping this would hold him over and stop his incessant meowing and nagging me. Wrong!!! It lasted 2 days and now he's right back to the meowing again only a few hours after eating a full 3 oz. can. I am becoming very frustrated!!! As I'm hoping many of you remember from my previous posts he is in remission from diabetes and has exhibited no other symptoms. Have not checked his glucose levels as I have tried unsuccessfully many times. He was checked by lab values last month at the vet's office (liver, kidneys, urine, etc)

Well, if we could eliminate high numbers, it could be behavioral. Our Oliver was always hungry, even OTJ. My personal theory is that he had lost 50% of his body weight while out on the streets before we adopted him and he was always worried about having enough to eat. We learned to ignore him and he did improve.

You might try the products that you use to calm cats - some are plug in. Another thing that occupied Oliver was that we bought one of the balls that you could put treats in. He had to chase it around the house to get any treats out. Not only did that draw out the time of the treats being available, he got tired in the process. Can't remember the name but we found it online.

What about hyperthyroidism? Did the vet check for that? Many of the signs are shared with diabetes, like increased hunger and vocalizations.

OTJ: Off the Juice, the juice being insulin (FDMB slang)

There are plug in diffusers, the most common uses Feliway phernomes, that help calm cats.
