Bisse's numbers are really confusing me.
But maybe that's because I'm new and keep expecting to see textbook numbers!
I would really like your opinions on his numbers.
I have finally gotten some nighttime numbers and will do a full curve this weekend.
To me it seems his numbers are just unpredictable, but maybe he is bouncing? Too high?
I don't know whether to start over from 0.5 increasing with .25.
Wait for another 5 days as yesterday he gave me a rare number under 100.
Increase to 1.5.
Short version: He is on Levemir and doing fairly well but all his high numbers worry me.
And sorry for the US version of his numbers being a bit wonky.
For some reason the chart misinterprets some of his numbers on caninsulin.

What I see in your chart is that when Bisse gets a green , he is bouncing to red. His body isn't used to low numbers anymore and his liver reacts by dumping counterregulatory hormones..... thus the bounce.
And even blue numbers get a similar reaction, he just doesn't bounce as high.....

Even though you had a day yesterday that started high, you still want that mid cycle test to see how much he's dropping during the day.
But it does look like it's time to increase to 2.5u as long as you continue monitoring... ( your chart says you are at 2.25u.....)

Glad to meet you and Bisse! We'll be glad to teach you what you need to know to help Bisse.

It's typical to have to go up in dose until you hit the "right" dose and then the dose works its way down. For now, you're right that getting a little more data in the day cycle this weekend will help fill out the picture for us. I think of the spreadsheet as like a jigsaw puzzle. You don't need every piece to be able to see the picture, but if you've got large white areas in the spreadsheet it makes it really hard to see what's going on.

we encourage people to get at least one mid-cycle test in every cycle. get one when you walk in the door from work, or before you go to work. All of it helps us know what's going on.

Wendy's comment in your previous post about Bisse perhaps bouncing from night-time low numbers may be exactly what's happening. It's very typical for cats to go lower at night than during the day. There is a thing called Dawn Phenomenon that can cause higher morning blood sugar also.

The dose is a little bit confusing. Your spreadsheet says 2.25 but your first post in this thread says 1.0u. Can you clarify that and get some numbers during the cycle this weekend, then we can help you decide what to do with the dose. I would not start over. If it's too much it will be obvious. In the meantime, reducing and starting over typically results in cats being in high numbers more than they need to be.

oh, and Lev is a GREAT insulin for cats. I'd stick with it and let us figure out what's going on with Bisse. I suspect he'll do well on it once we get him to the right dose.

Bisse is starting to look better with those greens and blues at night. I'm glad you are going to be able to get some daytime testing this weekend. That will really help us determine where to go next. I don't think going down is a good idea. He probably is just bouncing because he's seeing numbers he hasn't been used to. As you get up closer to the right dose and he spends more time in greens, the bouncing will reduce.

As Julie suggests, an additional test during the day would really help. With Levemir, even a +10 or +11 can help us decide what is happening.
