New novolin user in Health - dosing advice

Any suggestions apart from switching to another insulin??
The kitty has only been on novolin for a few days but she's really upset about the pre-shot numbers. I don't think novolin is a depot insulin but not sure so didn't want to advise her to wait a while...

novolin r or n?
Novolin N is an intermediate-acting insulin.
Novolin R is referred to as "regular" insulin, meaning it is short-acting.
