Hello,

My cat was diagnosed about a month ago with diabetes and has been on insulin since. I have yet to see anywhere discuss injection site problems.
Is this very uncommon?? I noticed on my cats skin about a week ago that it was quite red near one of the injection sites so I avoided that area and contacted the vet but she was on holidays. I had a feeling it could of been a broken blood vessel but was worried. The redness is now gone and I will discuss this with my vet at my next apt but I'm just surprised I couldn't find anything about injection site reactions. I am so thankful for this forum.

An injection site reaction is unusual. I've been here for a long time and I can't even think of many instances of a member reporting a problem. If I had to hazard a guess, your cat may have been scratching near the injection site. There are members who will rotate injections sites.

If you're wanting to take full advantage of the forum, I'd encourage you to home test (if you're not doing so already) and set up a spreadsheet along with setting up your signature. The information on how to do these things is in this post on helping us to help you.
