Hello, I am a new member to the feline diabetes forum. My male cat was diagnosed diabetic in June 2023. He has been on ProZinc since July 1, so my questions will mainly revolve around this area. Can you advise how I proceed from here. Thank you.

As a first step, we encourage new members to take a look at this post on helping us to help you. It provides instructions on some of the basics such as how to structure your signature (so we don't pester you by asking the same questions repeatedly), setting up a spreadsheet so you can track your cat's progress, and other important information.

One important question -- are you home testing? If not, we'd encourage you to consider doing so. It's the best possible way to make sure your cat is safe. We can link resources to help you master home testing.

There is also information on Prozinc and how we approach dosing in the sticky notes on the Prozinc forum. The materials there are a good place to get started.

Another important question is what you're feeding your cat. Again, can make recommendations regarding a low carbohydrate diet if you've not already switched your cat to an appropriate diet.
