So we are not so much shooting the 94 as we would be shooting the number he will be in a couple of hours — when his ProZinc kicks in. It looks like it takes a few (2-3) hours for his insulin to kick in and start lowering BG.
I would not skip the shot. I would shoot a reduced dose of .25 units. Or I would shooting the full dose if I was going to be at home and could carefully monitor the cycle.

Either way you will need to do your usual excellent job of monitoring him. It will be okay either way — the half dose or the full dose — because we will gather data that will help us to make decisions in the future.

You could try the full dose and test at +2. Is he good about eating snacks? Will he eat a small snack at +2?

Yes I think he will.

I don’t particularly want him to earn a reduction back down to .25 either. But there’s no guarantee that he won’t drop below 90, which would not be unsafe, but could earn a reduction back down to .25, which didn’t look like enough insulin for him.

He has probably already gone up in BG some now — with the food and the stalling

Since his shot was 30 minutes late this morning do i still proceed with giving him his shot this evening at the same time i usually do?
