Interesting. I'd not heard anything about this. In combination with getting their diabetes regulated and methylcobalamin we were able to quickly get a handle on neuropathy in our first two diabetic cats. Our current diabetic, knock on wood, hasn't had an issue with neuropathy to this point, but thanks for pointing this out so that I can keep my eyes and ears open about this potential treatment if we have to deal with it again.
 
A couple of thoughts... (And I have access to the full paper.)

This is a meta analysis. There are always pros and cons to basing conclusions on a meta analytic approach.

The studies that are included are all on humans. Generalizing from human data to cats can be problematic for obvious reasons. One would hope that a research veterinarian would look to extend studies to felines.

What is worth considering is that the authors of the study note that many of the studies included in their meta analysis were of poor methodological quality and that better randomized clinical trials are needed in order to draw more compelling conclusions.
