Hi everyone,
Thanks for this spot that will help me know more about the disease and how to handle it. I'm on the Swiss fb group that led me here, so I know a little bit more than before, but I guess we never know enough.

My cat Jack has been diagnosed late November, began her Lantus program early December, went in the ER late December and saw another cardiologist early January. Her heart condition is related to diabetes. It went better for a while then on March 27 sugar rose back in her little body and since then she's only at 29% of heart contractility.

I hope to find more testimonies and information on her special condition reading and visiting this forum.

And oh, Jack will turn 10 yo months. She's the first fur baby I got on my own.

I am just wondering if you keep track of Jacks diabetic numbers. Do you use a human glucose meter? Is Jack on a special diet for her heart condition? I see no insulin type or a signature you can set that up here

My girl had heart issues as well. She was initially on Vetmedin (pimomeden), Plavix (chlopidogrel) and a beta blocker, though she started that one for her kidney disease. Later on a small dose of Lasix was added. What medications is Jack on?

In what way is the heart condition related to diabetes? It was for my girl, because her diabetes was called by a benign pituitary tumour (acromegaly), that sends out excess growth hormone, which caused the diabeties and probably the heart condition.
 
Wink had a heart condition also. Severe end stage cardiomyopathy.
