Hello!
I have a lovely 9 year old silver tabby called OshKosh who was diagnosed with diabetes in February this year. We seem to have stabilised him well on prozinc 2.5u BD but in September he started with hind leg weakness. The vets have checked him out, done X-rays etc, fructosamine levels show his diabetes is well controlled and he isn't thirsty or anything at present (he always is when his BS spikes). We have gone as far as we can go without doing CT or MRI. One of the possibilities is diabetic neuropathy- it was thought unlikely as Osh has been stable for some time with good control but is still possible. I wanted to try methycobalamin to see if this helps. After reading lots of really helpful info on this forum (thank you!) I've purchased doctors best, along with folic acid drops to see if this makes any difference.
My main query- do you give the capsules as is, or do you split the capsule and sprinkle the contents on food?
Thanks!
Jenny
