My name is Jana and my FD kitty is Bella. Bella is about 8 yrs old, weighs 7.5 pounds, healthy except for FD diagnosed about 1 month ago and apparently due to a couple steroid injections for allergies. She is all black, short haired drama queen with lots of personality!!! I found her on the floor of an abandoned stable and bottle fed her while carrying her in the pouchy pocket of my sweatshirt. She is on 1.4 u of ProZinc at 12 hour intervals. I have switched her to all canned food, mostly Wellness. I have been reading your board for about 3 weeks and learned a lot from all of you. Thank you! I test her ears before her insulin injections using Bayer Contour glucometer and strips. Check her urine with Keto-Diastix. She gets freeze dried chicken as a reward. All thanks to you and NOT my vet who did NOT mention the possibility of FD before injecting Bella and wanted her on 3 units but by then I did not have confidence in his knowledge! I ignore his advice re diabetes.
We are in USA (California) but a rather isolated area and far from many amenities. I have some questions:
1) Where can I order syringes? I want to switch to the U-100 syringes from my U-40s. Walmart did not list any online. I'm particularly interested in places with hopefully nearby warehouses and speedy delivery. I have ordered from the East Coast and the process took forever.
2) Which are quality lancets? Some seem to be pure junk.
