New diagnosis in Louisiana

Hello everyone! I have a 9 year old female orange tabby named Sam that we rescued from the shelter that was just recently diagnosed with diabetes. The initial diagnosis and both the cat and I learning to adjust to injections twice daily took a while. I have been reading here for a while and decided to register. Thanks to everyone who put all of the info together here.

I know she should be on wet food but I haven't been successful in getting her to transition yet. Hoping it will happen eventually. This diagnosis has been a learning curve and a bit stressful at times due to my wife and I having long work schedules and very active lives. Hoping to get her regulated and off of insulin completely one day.
 
HI Catdaddy welcome to you and sweet Sam. Some kitties really resist the transition to wet food. Try crushing some of her dry and sprinkling it on top, warming up the wet and stirring it good to release the aroma sometimes helps too. There are a couple dry foods that are low enough in carbs one is young again zero available only online

Thanks Sharon. I have been looking into the young again. I haven't given up on the wet food yet!
