Hi, kitty Girl was diagnosted about 2 months ago and things have been going ok as far as I know. We don't test on a daily basis. I take her in to the vet once a month for a curve. She has a terrible rash and acts crazy trying to get to food now. This morning she didn't come running to get her foo, and she threw up a little. Then she came in ate a little then left the kitchen. This NEVER happens. I don't know if I'm suppose to give her the shot or what to do. Being Christmas morning I can't call the vet. Any Insite on what might be going on?

For the moment, stall. The hunger could mean her dose is too high...OR too low.

Some more info is needed to give you a better resonse.

What have been her numbers at the vet?

What insulin is she on?

What are you feeding her, how often, and how much?

What does her breath smell like?

Has she ever had diabetic ketoacidosis?

Has she ever been diagnosed with pancreatitis?

Is there a 24 hour pharmacy anywhere near you?

And read over my signature link Secondary Monitoring Tools on urine ketone testing.

If you let us know city & state, we may be able to find someone near you to help you learn to home test.

I would rule out ketones, first, as if she has ketones she'll need to go to the ER. Do you have ketone test strips?
Also, can you get a test now, and let us know what her blood glucose is?

If her blood glucose is high, she isn't eating, and there is any sort of infection, she could develop diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). This happens when fat is broken down for energy. A by-product of that is ketones. Too many ketones result in DKA.
