Beside we are still struggle with Kangaroo's diabetes our other cat was diagnosed with CRF and I might suspect diabetes too? Mici, was drinking, peeing lot and lost weight. He has a stomatitis and he is on prednisone since years. I checked his Blood Glucose level a couple time and slightly was higher as normal. The blood work showed that he has CRF. I know some of you have kitty with this illness and I would be happy to get some advice and suggestion. The vet described for him the K/d wet food and Epakatin. When I checked it out on the web I ran in two other things.- Azodyl, - Ubiquinol, - CoQ10 and also - Renavast. I wonder if any of you using these and how effective. Mici is in bad shape and I would like to put him on the best “supplement” what could help him ”fast”. Also if any of you use a different kind of wet food and what that would be. I attached Mici’s blood work. Any opinion on it? I saw his blood glucose level higher too but that could be a stress at the vet. Right?

As far as food - canned, low carb AND low phosphorus is what you want. Friskies Special Diet canned foods fit the bill and are over the counter. See if you can find them in Canada.

BJM thanks so much, I had some time yesterday check out the food chart. We use Friskies can for the rest of the kitties and we try newer and different kind because they become bored with just one kind but I never run in to the Friskies Special Diet. I will check other stores they might carry that type.

My Sassy was recently diagnosed as going into the beginning stages of CRF. While her Cretinine was excellent at 1.3 her BUN was up and so was her phosphorus and a few other numbers. She is on mostly KD dry food now. Though I let her out during the day. At night though she's fed just the KD. But I also have her on Standard Process Feline Renal Support. I have a friend who had a cat of hers on that for years and has proof that it works. Always kept his bloodwork in good range. He lived to be 21 eventually having to be sent to the rainbow bridge for cancer in his jaw not CRF! I just started Sassy on Standard Process Feline Renal Support, and plan on taking her in for a recheck in about two weeks or so to see how SPFRS has helped her! I have noticed her gaining weight! So that's a good sign!
