Neuropathy B12 or Methyl B12

I took Kitty into the vet today for some test.

While there, I mentioned what I thought was neuropathy symptoms in her hind legs. From reading here I asked if they used Methyl B12 to treat it. She truly acted oblivious to the Methyl part-- and said they just use B12 injections.

She gave Kitty a B12 injection-- will that help at all or do I need the Methyl? Is there anything adverse to the B12 injection?

Where can I get the methyl B12 tablets and what is the normal dose for a 9.3 lb cat. I have read to start at 3mg tablet once a day-- but, I want to confirm.

Thanks!
Kim

You want MethylB12. You can read about it here, this is how I first learned about it and about FDMB back in 2006 when I thought Tucker(GA) might need something for his back legs.

Don't worry about the B12 injection, it's water soluble, anything not used by the body will just flush out and it's not harmful, it might help Kitty feel better in general.

Back when Todd was having neuropathy issues, I asked our vet the same question.. they had never heard of Methyl B12, same with our internal med vet. I ended up buying a bottle of the Methyl B12 online (and did that $20 rush shipping on it) but in the end, I didn't use it.. He ended up getting over it on his own, with help from food and insulin regulation.

If you do wish to buy some of the Methyl B12, I still have the unopened bottle I would be willing to sell. Now that Todd has passed on, I should start selling and giving away his things... holding on is not the best idea when it comes to the food and meds. Normally I would give this away, but considering how much I paid for it with the shipping, my husband would probably be mad if I gave it away. :/ Really, I would just ask for like, $10 and no shipping cost in the US.

The brand I have is this:
