Hello All,
I love all of you, but hate that I'm having to post again on FDMB. Nervous Pervis has been in remission since 3/19/16. I've been testing his BG off and on since then and his numbers were always below 100 until last week when it was 112. Today, I took it because I noticed the change in the amount in what I was cleaning out of the litter box and his BG was 349! I changed his food without checking the carbs because he tends to not be able to keep his food down. I found another dry food that he can keep down and now his BG has skyrocketed. I failed to check the carbs on it before buying it. I have never been able to get him to eat any low-carb canned food even after trying different brands for months and months. I had also tried sprinkling his food with FortiFlora with no success. My two civvies both eat a combination of canned and dry food. I guess I had an inkling that things were going bad because I ordered Young Again Zero Carb cat food earlier this week. I should get it tomorrow. I can't put him back on his old dry food because it makes him sick.
In his pre-OTJ days, I was using ProZinc, which I still have a bit of it left. I was going to start him on Lantus back in March, but then he went into remission. I have had Lantus pens in the fridge since March.
What should I do now? I will be measuring him again later tonight.
Thanks,
Nervous P. and Terri
