? Needles

My vet sent me home with 1/2 U100 Vetrijec needles - my issue is, my cat has always been very skinny, and obviously more so now after becoming diabetic. He doesn't have a lot of loose skin to tent, so with a 1/2in needle it's very easy to go too deep, or poke through the other side. To that end, now I have to practice only getting the needle in half of the way, and in practice i'm not getting it every time and I'm convinced he's getting skin/fur shots. Are there better needles for my particular use case?

Have you looked at ADW Diabetes Supply? I would browse around there. They do have needles with half unit markings with short needles. Look at these, for example. 8mm length (which is .315 inches so less than 1/2 inch). I see this is a case of 5 boxes, but you can buy them individually (one box at a time.)

Here's a single box. These are the exact needles that I have at home and have used. I had a lot less trouble drawing insulin with these (less trouble with air bubbles than other brands.)

His stomach already feels a little bigger - he's never ever been a fat cat, he's slender and long, but it would be nice if he filled in again.
