? need suggestions for low-carbohydrate/low-fiber diet

Go to Main Forum and look in Dr. Pierson New Food Chart. It will tell you what you want to know about different brands of canned food

I've known about Dr. Pierson's chart for years but the last time it was updated was 2017.

I was just saying that in your last post you said you were adding fiber and Fortiflora but now you're looking for low fiber foods?

yes, I'm adding fiber and fortiflora. If there are food options that have high fiber that work well with diabetes, I am open to that as well. The fiber and fortiflora is being used to help with her GI tract. From what I saw the low carb/low fiber is the best. Vets like to prescribe rx foods, so I was curious if there are other options. Before being diagnosed with diabetes she was eating the RC GI fiber response that was great for her.

My cat just became diabetic in the fall of 24, he was on Royal Canin dry & wet. I needed to find a low carb wet food for him and all the ones that I was looking for were in Dr. Pierson chart.

Dr. Pierson's chart is still a valuable tool for finding low carb foods! My question was in relationship to your request for low fiber too.

If you are ADDING fiber and fortiflora, you're not feeding a low fiber diet.

If she was doing well on the RC Fiber food, then you should be looking for low carb/higher fiber foods but what you are doing by adding fiber to food she will eat is purrfect.

What's most important is that she will eat it!

perfect! sorry, just want to make sure with the added GI issues I am worried :/ she is not picky, so will focus on low carb and adding fiber :bighug:

Tiki cat is mostly very low carb. I think their mousse for weight loss has fiber in it; their digestion mousse has a decent amount of pumpkin I think (most of the mousses have some but it has more) but it’s almost 8% carb (one of the higher carb choices). I’ll see if I can find the info.

Tiki cat is mostly very low carb—but also very low fiber. The ones with higher fiber tended to be the higher carb ones. I found a few that were 1% fiber or higher (by dry mater percent):

After Dark lamb and beef liver pate 1.11% fiber 5.7% carb
After Dark turkey turkey liver pate 1.17% fiber 2.36% carb
Digestion chicken and egg mousse 1.83% fiber 7.78% carb
Luau Velvet mousse chicken and egg 2.01% fiber 0.07% carb
Luau Velvet Mousse tuna and chicken 1.90% fiber 0% carb
Aloha Friends pates:
Chicken and pumpkin fiber 1.05 carbs 8.4
Chicken, pumpkin and beef fiber 1.205 carb 3.09
Chicken, pumpkin and duck fiber 2.28 carb 3.46
Chicken, pumpkin and lamb fiber 2.315 carb 5.33
