need some canned food suggestions

My kitty, Stella, has been in remission for about 6 months now. She's been on canned food only for over a year. I've been feeding her petsmarts's brand, grrreat choice, in turkey and giblets and liver and chicken.
Well, she's pretty much refusing to eat it now. She takes a few bites and thats all, plus she sneaks the dogs dry food whenever she gets a chance. She's even lost some weight, which worries me, but not the vet since she was a tad overweight before and is a perfect weight now.

I am hoping for some suggestions that are very low in carbs that I can try for her, to see if maybe some new flavors/brands would be appealing to her. Thanks in advance!
 
I stuck to poultry with my cats, since I have yet to see a housecat bringing down a cow or salmon

Wellness Turkey and Giblets or Chicken
Friskies Turkey and Giblets or Chicken
Before Grain Turkey
Fancy feast (3 oz) classic turkey or chicken pate
 
I think Binky's List was the one I found the Petsmart food on, it used to be called Sophisticat until about a month or 2 ago, when they changed the label. If the recipe hasn't changed, here's the carb % of the ones I get, very low carb, classic pate:

Liver and Chicken - 1
Mixed Grill - 0
Turkey and Giblets - 0
Beef and Liver - 1
Country Style Dinner - 1
Salmon - 3 does contain brewers yeast (I don't get the Salmon, my cats don't like it.)
Mariner's Choice - 0


I do buy this brand because of the price. I also get Friskee's Classic Pate, but these are the lowest carb of the Petsmart brand and I HOPE they haven't changed.

thanks everyone :) It is those petsmart ones I have been feeding for over a year now. Lucky for me (haha not really) my kitty has really sensitive stomach. The mixed grill and salmon make her throw up and so does the mariners choice. I do love that they are affordable.
 
I quit buying the Salmon and the Mariners Choice, only the feral will eat it. Mixed Grill is Lucian's fave. Go figure!

They won't eat chicken at all, even human cooked chicken or chicken treats. Shadow, my feral, will eat the Chicken and Liver, if she has to. :lol: Poor cat! Since she's the least picky, she get's what the other ones don't like. :lol: She'll eat them all, but likes some more than others.

We stick to the Turkey and Giblets, Beef and Liver and Mixed Grill mostly. With some Friskee's Tuna thrown in, because Patches, the baby (6 yrs old) won't eat any of the others. But it upsets Lucian's tummy if I give him more than a pinch. They are all so different. ohmygod_smile

Whatever works and you can afford is a good thing. :thumbup That's why I buy Petsmart and Friskee's, can't afford the others. They love Fancy Feast, but with 3 of them and no job, it ain't gonna happen. :sad:

If the vet says her weight is good, I wouldn't worry too much about that, but if she continues to lose, then maybe something needs to be checked. You've done so great with her and remission. :thumbup

I really need a scale to check my babies, have one picked out, just waiting on $$. @-)

1st column is percent calories from carbohydrates, 2nd is product, 3rd is caloris per can, I believe

since both columns have a C (presumably carbs) I am trying to figure out which one is actually the carb % I need to look at :)
 
Open the file.
Look at the very top of the page.
There are 2 sets of 3 columns.
The first one says Calorie %.
That is the column to use - select < 10%.
