I attempted to use the Lantus savings card today... my vet was willing to write the prescription exactly as it said, and she was able to get it over to the pharmacist, and the pharmacist was able to fill it. All that went well. Unfortunately, when they went to run the card, it kicked back an error from Sanofi because it does not recognize the doctor (who is a vet) as an actual doctor on their list.

I called Sanofi and got more details and they said that since Lantus is not FDA approved for use in pets, it will not recognize a vet as a doctor.

I know many people have been able to use this savings card, so I was hoping someone might have some insight into where I go from here.
Thanks!

That's Strange
you can get generic/biosimilar glargine at very reasonable prices using GoodRx coupon.
https://www.goodrx.com/lantus?label...d-pens-of-100-units-ml&quantity=1&slug=lantus
Make sure that the Match your prescription pull down menu says generic glargine 1carton of 5 3ml pens.

You are talking about this right
A member said she followed this prescription info exactly and it worked perfectly. Hope this helps!
Then go to the Lantus site to generate the coupon as in second image.

Yep... that's the one we were using. Everything came up fine, except it kicked back and said the company that issued the card denied it due to it having been prescribed by a vet.

Resurrecting this because I tried Walgreens and it kicked it back again. The pharmacist said that it’s possible the company caught on that it was being used for pets and has added a need for an NPI (which vets cannot get.)

Has anyone used the Lantus card pictured above in the very recent past? (Like, within the past month or so)

Yes, I did. I took it to a CVS inside of a Target store. The pharmacist needed the vet’s number (that a vet has) so they called the vet office, got her # and used it to process the prescription. It went through a few weeks ago.
I hope you have better luck at another pharmacy.

@kthondragon
Hi Mike I found this also posted by another member recently about the savings card
We went to the vet today. I gave her the instructions in the picture. She ended up unfortunately putting the dosage on the script. The pharmacist said if she hadn’t he would have gladly filled all 5 pens. Lantus brand name was actually cheaper. We only got 1 pen at $21.

Any luck with any other pharmacy's?

Not yet… I’m having it transferred to a CVS and I’ll be trying again. Getting close to the point where I’m just gonna have to take what they’ll give me :/. I really hope the company hasn’t put a cut off on it.
