Once diagnosed, I was feeding Hill's m/d dry then went to m/d canned. After getting OTJ in just a few weeks, I wanted to switch to Fancy Feast since many of you have had success with that. Began FF classic/mixed with m/d the first week of December. Once on full FF and with new bowls (made in China), began to see one or two of the girls vomit at times. Once I thought one was doing okay then another would vomit. There may have been some loose poop in the litter box but I am not sure since I use scoopable. Then for the last couple of days, my OTJ boy began to have diarrhea but no vomit. The 4th cat (boy) has had no symptoms that I know of. Girls still vomit at times. Called vet yesterday- said to add probiotics and be watching for dehydration. Since they do not act like they feel bad, she thought it was a reaction to the food change and suggested not giving FF at all and to start a new food with added probiotics to help with the food change. I bought Merrick BG chicken and gave that to them last night and this morning. They did not want to eat it but eventually ate. OTJ boy had diarrhea around lunch time. Bought Merrick Cowboy Cookout today and gave 1/4 can to the girls (added probiotics as vet said to do) this afternoon as a test. One threw up 30 minutes after eating. That was 1 1/2 hours ago. Other girl has not vomited yet. Boys have not tried the new food yet.

I don't know what to do or even what to ask really. I don't know if it is a reaction to the FF, a reaction to the bowls made in China, or a bug. Should I go back to m/d? I was looking for a better quality high protein food but now I don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

How did you go about this? Did you introduce one flavor at a time and wait a few days to see how they did with it? That way, it is easier to figure out if it is every flavor of Fancy Feast or just one. I know some cats have a problem with beef and do much better with chicken and turkey.

It would be easy to change out the bowls and eliminate that factor, but I think we usually see a skin reaction, not vomiting and diarrhea. Sometimes probiotics will help.

MD wet isn't awful. It is just heavy on liver and most cats get tired of it, and then, there's the cost. At least it is wet, lo carb..... Did you look at Wellness or Blue Buffalo?

I didn't even think of doing one flavor at a time. didn't have any problems when it was mixed. I just bought 3 flavors - chicken, turkey and liver and chicken I believe. At some point they were out of one of those and I had to get beef. The last time i bought food, they were out of turkey so I had to buy beef and chicken. One of the girls threw up after eating the beef and chicken but I am not sure if that was the one who caused it but i did not give it any more. I rotated through the flavors - hindsight...maybe it would have been better to do one at a time.

i bought stainless steel bowls today but have not used them. they were made in India. Using paper bowls right now.

I bought some wellness today too and have that on the counter. I think I am getting too many options. I want them to eat something they like so I am buying different things. I need to slow it down.

Is the Merrick that people use the Before Grain or the ones like Cowboy Cookout? I have the turkey and chicken Wellness.
