Need help with dosage of insulin

I just checked Tiger's BG (7:30 PM) and it was 174. I have feed him about 1.5 Tablespoons of ViYo and baby food chicken with water mix by syringe. He will get his shot in about 45 minutes. Should I give him a full dose of 2 units of ProZinc or give him 1 unit or none at all. Thank you for any help.

The rule for newbies is no insulin if the bg is under 200. Test again right before shot time. If bg is still udner 200, skip the insulin. Your cat will be ok without insulin :smile:

Is Tiger eating on his own or do you have to syringe feed him? For a cat who is not eating on its own, I would not give any insulin if the bg tests under 200 to prevent a potential hypo.
