Need help whether to shoot .25 dose or lower...

So sorry your post didn't get a response sooner. I see you reduced the dose to 0.10u this AM and that reduction was earned and particularly after those readings in the 40s yesterday. Sometimes back to back reductions don't hold but in this case, I think you made the right decision.

Sorry you didn't get an answer soon enough Nikki! Considering the lows yesterday, you made a good decision. Better too high for a day than too low for a moment!
One thing I do notice on your spreadsheet is that you keep changing her dose. Lantus craves consistency so we need to find a dose that's safe to give both AM and PM.
Each time you change the dose, you disrupt the depot which leads to wonky numbers.

Nikki - my rule of thumb is to never shoot if numbers are below 50.
To Chris' point, it may help to remember that Lantus dosing is based on the nadir, not on pre-shot numbers. The exception being if your pre-shot number is not a shootable number (e.g., below 50).

@Chris & China (GA) the reason the numbers look a bit all over the place in the last 7 or so days is because Nikki went away
for a few day and the dose was reduced because DH was minding Fifi but wasn't testing. Fifi also earned a reduction at the same time so the dose was dropped 0.5 to accommodate the earned decrease and the holiday decrease (10/30).
Then when she came back she increased to 0.75 but gained another decrease back to 0.5
Then she earned two more decreases and is now down to 0.1

I see she dropped to 180 at +6 on the 0.1unit.

Yes I had gone back to vets and spoken about it all. he wanted her to then stay on 1 iu for a week and check again. happy with the food change as was going to be his next option. it was another vet (same practice) that was keeping me on the dry food, even though I was constantly asking should I be changing. (before I found this help here). I haven't gone back with any results yet as she has been doing well and she had urine etc testing then as well so I'll go back in a week or so, depending how she is travelling.
