need help for insulin

Does the insulin have to be out for a while or can you give the kitty insulin right out of fridge?(Lantus)

I give it right out of the fridge. You can leave it out for five minutes to warm up I think but you shouldn't need to

Unless you cat is on a large does, a room temperature syringe will worm the insulin sufficiently for immediate injection.

Hi,

If you're concerned, then, once you've drawn up the insulin, just holding the barrel of the syringe between your fingertips for a few moments should be enough to take the chill off.
When I started out I was using quite large doses and always let it warm a little in my fingers first. But I don't bother warming small doses.

Have you noticed a reaction from your kitty when you give the shot? I've not used Lantus but have noticed a few folks here saying that Lantus can sting a bit.
