My Molly is 15. She was recently diagnosed with feline diabetes. When she was first diagnosed her blood sugar level was 794! The vet put her on NPH and it got it down to the 500s. We were switched to ProZinc and she seemed to do better. Her dosage is much higher but her levels are down to the 300s. She seems to feel better. She is currently receiving 5 units of ProZinc twice a day. The vet did a rolling glucose test and even upped her dose to 6 to check for the somogyi effect and said that didn't happen and that she ruling her diagnosis as insulin resistant. Are there any other options for her? I would love the advice if it will help my cat have a quality life. Thanks in advance!
