Are there seasoned vets out there who might be willing to help me get home testing started. I'm quite daunted and live in North San Diego County, California.

You might edit your subject line to include San Diego to attract our CA members. I also sent an email to Cindy who seems to know everyone in CA.

Re: San Diego resident needs help with home testing

Thank you Sue and Oliver. Look forward to hearing from Cindy.

hey there. whereabouts in san diego county? i live in XXXX myself and depending on how "north" you are there maybe I could drive down on the weekend and help you get started. i can at least help you see if anyone is more local to you too. let me do some searching and see who i can find

edited to remove specific city.

Cindy and Mousie:

Thank you so much for this. I'm right next door to Oceanside, in San Marcos, just east of Carlsbad/La Costa. I can't think where Corona is, but I suspect it is in LA County rather than Orange County, right?

You are a dear to offer to drive so far to assist me, and I will gladly pay for your gas if we decide to go that route instead of your Oceanside acquaintance.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Riverside County actually. I'm right where the 91 and the 15 freeways meet so we shoot straight down the 15 when we go to Carlsbad (fiance's aunt lives there) or down to Mexico.

Let's see if we hear back from Kathy since you are indeed very close to her it looks like, perhaps less than 20 miles. If she's tied up then we'll see about working something out for this weekend.

Kathy and Cindy: I'm very grateful to both of you for your prompt assistance with this. It looks like Cindy and I will be able to work out some personal assistance for me over the weekend.

Kathy: Where do you go in Mexico? I'm planning on retiring there in the next few years.

Oops, please reverse the names in my last post. Cindy goes to Mexico and Kathy will be in touch to schedule some help for me with the home testing.

While you're waiting to get started on blood glucose testing, some of the supplemental techniques in my signature link may be useful to you.

And testing the urine for ketones is important at all times.

Hope you find the link helpful.
