Bobbie And Bubba

He's up to his trick. He held onto the dose last night and this AM is 156. That's close enough to 180 but should I reduce some if so, to what?

HA! I was just asking if you had retested as you posted. Good deal...wanted to be sure he was rising. You've shot 2 into those lower numbers before (since he's at 167) it's like when he was at 172 and you shot. So it's up to you...you could do 2 or 1.5....either way, I'd make sure to carefully monitor in case you need to steer with food.

Bubba is just such a mystery to us! You ever wonder if he's laughing a little when he throws those low numbers? Love him, though!
Yeah, he's a real comedian. Stumping the heck out of us. Pancreas action? Sue says usually not until on just 1 unit..........maybe he is creating new criteria......

Very well could be. I also tend to think we see it more at 1 unit...but Bubba...well he writes his own rules. Besides, as we've always said, ECID! Bubba has always challenged the way we normally do things, so I suppose he would challenge us now too!

Good morning Bobbie, a blue AMPS #! And you shot a brave 2u, great. Good luck for a beautiful blue/green day:)
Good Morning to you too, Sharon. Yes, a blue/green day would be lovely. But with Bubba......one never knows what he's up to.. When he throws me a lower number like that, I get stupid and feel like I need someone to help me reason it through. His consistent inconsistency is doing a number on me...
How's Colin doing?

Colin was diagnosed with a UTI Mon. He seems to be feeling better, but his numbers are still high. I also had blood work done, but haven't got the results back on that yet- Should be today or tomorrow. Right now I'm not testing him a bunch, letting his ears rest. I'll start testing more if I see any movement with his numbers.

Ah, Poor Colin! Did the higher numbers alarm you something was off or did you see symptoms of the UTI?

Caught him trying to pee on the dining room table-grabbed him and got him to the box in time! Last time he did that he had a UTI, so I brought him in. Numbers are high and flat. As soon as he's finished the antibiotics, I'll start posting on the Levemir Forum again, see if anyone can help.

Isn't it amazing how they will do something like that to get our attention? Smart cats, glad you caught him!

@Bobbie And Bubba - Fingers, toes & paws crossed out here for Bubba to have a Surf & Terf day!:D:cat:
@Sharon14 - Aww, sorry about Colin's UTI ... but you sure recognized that quickly! He's lucky to have such an on-the-ball mom!;) Sending healing vibes for a speedy recovery!:bighug:
P.S. When I'd catch my other black cat, Rufus, peeing in the bathtub, that was my cue to take him in for another UTI check! (And yep, that's always what it was ...)
@Rachel - Hi, Rachel - So glad you're in Bobbie's time zone!!!:)

Nice amps number there Bobbie! Hope Bubba does well on the 2U and surfs along nicely! I know those dancing shoes are pinching your toes a bit lately. ;) Sorry to hear about Colin's UTI, Sharon, but you were so quick to catch it, that should help him recover quickly. Hard to know what to dose him till his infection is clear, frustrating for sure! Good luck to Bubba and Colin!

@Bobbie And Bubba - Wah! I can't SEE his +7 # because the blue is too dark on my screen behind the black text. (Can you lighten that blue up? Yeah, I know I'm old & ... blind.)
Okay, check that out Granny, LOL. He is doing the slow mo thing today. Can't wait to see what he's going to throw at me at 6: 20 EST. He and Forrest are sitting on the cat buffet waiting, 1 1/2 hours early..........

How's the cats and the poopsy thing? Hope they have knocked off that stuff for you!!

Think I should just let him stay landed it this blue/yellow AM/PM thing for a bit without trying to bump him up. It is a very viable possibility that you were right about him reacting to dose changes. Shhhh don't let him hear us talking about this......;)
Might as well go with "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" - and I'd be hesitant about bumping up the dose anyway, given this morning's AMPS. Maybe let him roll at 2U for another cycle or two? Unless, of course, at AMPS Bubba does that "hang-time" thing again and/or his BG drops even farther down tomorrow morning as compared to this morning's # ... In that case, then you might even want to consider doing a slight skinny-down on the current dose.;) What do you think about that?

Much better thank you! Hope the de-wormer did it's job, never saw any, but didn't really want to anyway, ewwww! :blackeye: Rupert had weird numbers today, finally went into the blue's, but just tested him at +3.5 and he was 455! Bounce? He has been running sort of flat for awhile. No fur shot (99% sure) and diarrhea much better. I don't know, Rupert is almost as unpredictable as Bubba! Speaking of Bubba, nice Mellow Yellow PMPS, as Robin said! Go Bubba! :joyful:

In typical Bubba Style, he continued the slow motion all night after a BIG bounce at +3. His whole cycle was a frown, not a smile. :(

Those were some nice blues! Yep, those two are not wanting to be figured out, that's for sure. I'm glad the poopy thing is better. Don't think I ever saw a worm in the LB, only when they were thrown up, yuck! :(

I was thinking that also, Rachael, just sort of weird after being so flat there, but I will take those blues, haven't seen many of those lately. :joyful:

That's where I noticed them too and ewwww is right! Hoping he will feel better now and the diarrhea clears up. It is better, but still loose. I'm thinking Rupert and Bubba are in cahoots and are snickering behind our backs! :cat: :cat:

Hi Lynn - looks like there's lots of bouncing going on today - just when all three of us (Rupert, Murphy and Bubba) had such good days yesterday :(

Hi Carol! Yep, he is going low and than high! Rupert, Murphy and Bubba sure like to lead us around on that sugar dance! It's always interesting at least! I see Murphy did have a great day yesterday! Go Murphy! I wish we could all have some good numbers and they stay that way. Guess they would be regulated then! lol Wouldn't that be grand? :joyful: There should be a contest on which cat has the whackiest SS.....hmmm, Bubba would probably win, but ours would be contenders!

I am not used to bouncing, so what is the best way to handle that? Just keep the dose the same and see if things level out? I still have so much to learn!

Yes, my understanding is increasing the dose during a bounce won't really help so just give the usual dose and try to ride it out (but since ECID, I'm sure there are extenuating circumstances where that would not be the advice).

Thanks Carol, I will do that. It sure is a roller coaster, I am so happy when his BG's were in the blues for a change, then high 400's at amps and pmps. *sigh* Course, Rupert is usually high at amps and pmps, but gosh I was hoping last night he would at least give me something in the 300's. :( Oh well, at least he is feeling better during the day (I hope). Hang in there and paws and fingers crossed for Murphy here! :bighug:

Got a chuckle out of that. We will probably see some bouncing too after today in the greens for hours. Can't wait to see what the comedian has for me at 6:20 PM EST.

Wow, Bubba hit some greens there! As Carol said, not so bad at pmps. I am doing as y'all suggested, just letting it ride for now. He is getting more blues today, amps was high, but pmps about the usual, in the 300's. I am curious what he will be tomorrow. Thanks for your help and the chuckles today, I am off to bed!
