Need advice on last Bg curve

Hi everyone,
I’m new to this forum my cat Jimmy have been Diagnosed in April 2021. I have questions around a BG curve I did last Sunday or more I want your advice of what I should think of those #. I send it out to my Vet but still haven’t heard back from them and I’m wondering if you guys could take a look and tell me what I should think of it while I’m waiting. I did 2 curves since he was diagnosed. The first 2 weeks I was feeding him purina DM and after reading a lot about diabetes I decided to switch for something lower in carbs and I feel the difference is really showing with his # (first curve was while feeding purina DM and second one was with Rawz wet food). The vet hasn’t given us any informations of what his numbers should look like and I want to make sure we are on the right track with him. I was not testing is BG everyday yet since I have the Alphatrack and the test strips are pretty expensive but I’m looking to buy a human meter instead ( if you have any advice for a good human meter to use for pets in Canada?? I’d appreciate i can’t find the relion anywhere here...) thanks everyone for reading this! I really appreciate what this forum has done for me and my cats since he was diagnosed.

Just some general information first.
Feeding a low carb wet diet with carbs 10% or less is best.
I would definitely swap to a human meter as the alphatrak meter is very expensive to run. I don’t live in Canada so I will tag a couple of people who can give you specific Canadian advice @Christie & Maverick and @Red & Rover (GA)
I would recommend testing before every shot to see it is safe to give the dose and again at least once during each cycle to see how low the dose is taking Jimmy. Try getting a before bed test in every night and if that test is lower than the Preshot, set the alarm and get up and test again a couple of hours later to see the BG is not falling too much.
Are you feeding snacks during all the cycles as well as the Preshot meals?

Looking at the SS? There is not a lot of data to go on but the curve you did on the 2/5 is looking quite good. It looks like he is doing a bit of bouncing as well so getting more data will give us a better picture. There is no data for about 10 days at one point and we have no idea what the BGs were doing during that time.
Don’t forget the pm cycle as well it’s just as important.

I think we need more continuous data before we can say he needs an increase. Do you think you could get some more tests in?

Strips in Canada can be expensive, especially AlphaTrak strips. I used the FreeStyle Lite meter because it used the smallest drop of blood. The last time I checked, strips run $80-90 per 100. I used my PC points to lower the cost.
Some Canadians use a subscription service called OneDrop. Tagging @Butters & Lyla and @Sue and Luci who use this service.
 
I use the OneDrop service, but I signed up for it in the states a long long time ago - I understand from Lyla that it's somewhat more expensive in CA...but still you get unlimited strips - which in my book is the best thing ever - I never ever have to worry about running out of strips. https://onedrop.today/
 
Hi and welcome. If you're looking for the cheapest strips possible and don't want to commit to the monthly service, it seems to be the Bravo meter and strips that were least expensive in Canada. https://diabetesexpress.ca/ has good prices but I don't see the Bravo on their website right now. Could be out of stock. @Pookie kyle/Dalton uses a less expensive meter and strips, but I'm not sure which one. I'm tagging him so hopefully he will tell you, or you can PM him to ask.
