Need Advice - Need to start dosing for first time

Hi
Muffin has been on a low carb diet for almost 6 full days. Her numbers are better but not good enough to consider not dosing. Since she has never been on insulin, her SS chart only shows her numbers as they relate to the time she was tested and fed. Her original BG at vet was 475. She is down from that on a regular basis but it of course differs depending on the time she is tested. The vet had prescribed 1 unit every 12 hours.
That seems too high now. Any advice you could offer would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry the diet wasn't enough, Julie but there's a big Lantus group who can help . 1.0U twice a day is the usual starting dose but you could post a thread (they are called condos on Lantus) over there asking if maybe starting on 0.5U twice a day is still OK.

Also if you could put proper colour in cells where you did test, it's helpful. If you type anything but the BG number in the cell it won't automatically change colour but you can manually do it. Click on cell to be effected, choose this "Fill color" option and pick colour according to scale at the top of your spreadsheet
