My vet experience today

I took Kitty to the vet to leave for boarding. I presented my vet with Kitty's spreadsheet---she was impressed with the ss, but doesn't want her "to become anemic."

Then, I told her I thought we might need to look at a dose change. She wants to try Kitty on wet MD this week to see if it will make any difference!

I asked her to please check for ketones & to check her urine to be sure it is clear.

I really hated leaving her.

Anemic???? MD instead of LC FF???

I can't wait to get her back home.

Anemic because you test a drop of blood a few times a day or for some other reason? Wet DM is not awful and won't hurt. It's only 7-8%carbs.

Just a holding pattern till you can get her back home.

I still think they are bloody crazy (pun intended) ohmygod_smile

You know what..... you should ask them for a journal article or some research that backs up their claim of anemia from testing because all you can find are journal articles supporting testing, then provide them with a stack :lol:

MD isn't going to throw the numbers off, there is just better stuff out there for cheaper, and most of the time cats will eventually turn their nose up at it. Did you leave some LC FF just in case she snubs it? If not, no worries!

LOL! You go Kim! Like Donna said, I will be sending you and Kitty positive thoughts. I had to leave my cat right after he was diagnosed to go out of town and it was so hard, but our reunion was sweet.
