About 3-5 weeks ago we took her to the vet because she was ripping her hair out.
They determined it was because of a flea bite allergy which I think was asinine because we don't have fleas.
They gave her a steroid shot and antibiotics and she was fine for about 7-10 days until it wore off and she started overly grooming and ripping more hair out. Also, she was pealing like a person does with a bad sunburn.
So we took her to a second vet whom thought it was a flea bite yet couldn't find any fleas.
She got 2 more shots which did nothing and then a Lime bath on the next visit. That didn't work either.
She was prescribed prednisolone which didn't do much and her excessive grooming made her worse.
We then took her to a specialist whom discovered she had a Yeast infection on her skin.
They think it might be either Cancer or possibly an adverse reaction to one of the shots.
They took biopsy samples and I should find out the results next week .
Here is the thing. She hasn't lost a bit of her appetite. So this gives me hope when it comes to the cancer.
I am wondering if any of you have been through this and have any idea?
Thank you
